I am a former prostitute (note: I use the word prostitute, instead of 'commercially sexually exploited youth' or a similar phrase, because I personally was a legal adult when it happened) now in my early 20's. I turned tricks, primarily out of a Las Vegas strip club, for about a year beginning when I was 18, including six months when I had a pimp. I now live in the Midwest. I am a community college student, and also a fiction author planning to release my first book soon.

Kaari Anzel is not my real name. It is a combination of my stage/street name and a last name my grandma's family used to use when they didn't want people to know their nationality. For the purpose of future careers, I do not want my government name (or an especially clear picture of my face) associated with my story, even though I'm not ashamed of it. My goal is to one day use what I've been through to help someone else.
